The Toronto Burlesque and Vaudeville Alliance
The Toronto Burlesque and Vaudeville Alliance (TBVA) started in 2003 as a web-based forum for burlesque performers, traditional dancers, strippers, magicians, comedians, contortionists, circus performers, freaks and geeks, mind readers, street buskers and all manner of vaudevillian acts to post their shows, inquire about bookings, meet out of town performers, share stories, post bios and photos, or just vent. Over time, a true community has developed in Toronto, to the mutual delight of burlesque and vaudeville performers and their enthusiasts! The group can be found at:

Since its inception, the Toronto Burlesque and Vaudeville Alliance has produced the first collaborative burlesque show featuring all-local artists, Bad Girls Run Amok, as part of the Mayworks Festival of Working People and the Arts. Shortly after, they donated their time and energy for a giant fundraiser for Tsunami Relief in February 2005. Both shows sold out. This is the TBVA’s second annual fundraising calendar. This year, all profits are donated to Inter Pares, a grass-roots organization supporting community development overseas.
