Marxism and Marx himself always opposed the method of individual terrorism. If the RAF is marxist enough they would have dedicated them selves to organize labors and peasants movement, which is a long and difficult task, but proved to be the best way in the class struggle. The one who could free the people is the people them selves. The one who could free the masses is the masses them selves. That's why it's called people struggle. Ahhh please get your facts straight before saying things like that
there are enough questionable facts about their deaths, things that simply couldn't be. I've been in Stammheim, the prison they were held in, it is near the city I live in and I was there to visit. Anyways, it is impossible to get anything like that into the cells.
Moreover at that time (and to be honest still) the goverment was full of fascist pigs. Many old nazis were still in important positions, the repression people suffered from the those motherfucking rascist police officers was horrible etc etc. There are more than enough reasons why so many people were radicalized after the tenth time you get pepperspray into your face and are beaten up by those fuking cops, you look at the world A LITTLE differently. From the way you talk it seems to me that you really don't know much about the RAF probably you just read the boulevard magazines and believe every crap those official censured newspapers publish

One who stands for a just cause cannot possibly be called a terrorist. They believed in something, they tried to achieve it through a form of revolution. Just because many did not agree with it, and that it was unsuccessful, and looked upon differently by people who were otherwise influenced, does not mean that they were these horrible murderous scum. They were a group who had a different vision that many probably did not understand at the time. It's all just a balance of power, chances are whoever is reading this is in a country where it was a revolution that made their country what it is today. Revolution is chaotic, doesn't mean it's always a bad thing though. ---Personally I support them releasing her. I do agree they did some terrible acts that were taken pretty far. And now shes spent her time, as it says -shes no longer seen as a threat. Enough said.

Thanks for pointing that out - and i have corrected the "2" to the "7" in the post for those wondering.

When i've corresponded with Rashid i have used the 1007485 and mail has been returned along with a form saying "no authorization". One letter had a sticky-note on it with the question "Can he have this?" to which someone had scrawled "No".

It's definitely not the DOC # as when i have written other people and gotten their number wrong, the letter comes back with something indicating "No such DOC #" or some such.

I've never even known of Rashid's "DOC#",
and besides, you've got a "2" IN that DOC# which ought to be a "7" (1007485)according to the VDOC, but that's not my point; I've always used his "Inmate#" for years (#185492; and surmise that's maybe part of the reason his mails' not getting to him though they could make the connection from an understandable mistake like that if they wanted to.

My next question is have you always used that # to mail stuff into him? That inmate # is what he's always had on his letters and what I've used; just checking on that with y'all.

A bit of clarification regarding “romanticization of violence and misogyny”:
There is no doubt that the glorification of violence is to an extent inherently problematic, I suppose what I was getting at is the presence of various “romantic” discourses about acts of violence in the history of the Left, which I find hard to associate with fascism or misogyny per se.
for example the glorification of terror and martyrdom by the Russian populists and SR’s, or the early Naxal strategy of “annihilation” ( with slogans written in blood and so on), I don’t see any real connection between examples like these and reactionary gender politics (granted the Russian case did tend to tie into the whole “woman as self sacrificing” thing).
I see Lyon’s point about a very frequent connection, but it’s the concept of an “inherent” link, that I can’t wrap my head around…

Thanks to Signalfire for challenging my comment about anti-feminism and romanticization of violence. I still think there's an important relationship there, but concede that my point was careless and overstated.

Just to clarify, romanticizing violence means more than treating violence as a legitimate or even necessary tool that can have positive outcomes -- to me it also means belittling or ignoring the negative consequences of violence and, especially, proclaiming violent acts as purifying or uplifting in themselves.

That said, I concede that it's probably too simplistic to say all romanticization of violence tends toward anti-feminism or misogyny. There's a basic difference between the Futurist Manifesto and SCUM Manifesto.

Did Louise Michel romanticize violence? Unfortunately, I haven't read her and cannot comment. As for Robin Morgan, I'm not sure which texts Signalfire is referring to, but here's what Morgan wrote in "On Violence and Feminist Basic Training" (1971):

"I have thought about a feminist army, more than once. And yes, I feel stronger and more committed and even happier with every skill I learn to further defend myself and my sisters. Competence feels good. But that is, in a sense, beside the point.... Only when you have access to the tools can you make a fair choice between which ones you will want to use at any given time. If, then, we find that we are ever forced into using 'violent' means to survive or fight, it is then contingent on us to avoid that very same violence-for-its-own-sake attitude that men are into (including Leftist men)." (Going Too Far, p. 139.)
