Beyond mosques and parents, there isn't much talk about influences within the rebelling suburbs. It appears that the revolt was fairly spontaneous and then coordinated to some degree with text messaging and blogs.

Where I'm at there are some radical, working-class, immigrant led coalitions based in immigrant communities - are there similar formations in these suburbs? If so, what role did they play? Or if not, given what's happened, are such organizations being formed now?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17300290.post-1132359071145415382005-11-18T19:11:00.000-05:002005-11-18T19:11:00.000-05:00thanks for pointing this out - could you let me kn...thanks for pointing this out - could you let me know if there were any attempts to offer concrete solidarity to the rioters?kersplebedebhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08148717542412439319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-17300290.post-1132357787317720412005-11-18T18:49:00.000-05:002005-11-18T18:49:00.000-05:00Sorry but the Vignoles (those you call "CNT-F" wer...Sorry but the Vignoles (those you call "CNT-F" weren't present in the movement ... nor AL !

The 6th of November, the Communist Party claimed : "The order must be restored !" (http://www.pcf.fr/?iddoc=5210&idcol=46 )

The governement listen to the CP and then it is the curfew. But this is too much for the CP that now want to calm down the situation and tell that the normal law is enough to restor quiet in the suburb "To stop the violence is necessary ... but does this need a special regulation inherited from the colonial period ?" And who also endorsed this call to "stop the violence" of the rioters but with "usual" tools ? The Vignoles ! (cf the call there : http://sipm-cnt.org/article.php3?id_article=457)

After, the 16th, all the left with the Socialist Party (scial democrat), the Communist Party, the Trots of LCR, the green Party and all the reformist organizations call to a demonstration in the bourgeois quarters of Paris to march to the parliament, in support of the Left Deputy that will vote against the renewal of the curfew law (they didn't telle anything against the first take of this law ... only against the renewal ...). The left claims for a welfare social state ... And the Vignoels are here, hand in hand together with social democrats to ask for a social State ! (http://paris.indymedia.org/article.php3?id_article=46596)

May be you don't know, but Vignoles claim to NOT be anarchist since a while now. Their national secretary made public that anarchist are only a small minority inside the organization (http://www.politis.fr/article1293.html).

They define themselves as "revolutionanry unionist". The problem is that they are a union without membership so they can't do much ... But in fact they are counter revolutionnary because each time something serious happen here, they systematically choose the bourgeoisie side (call to vothe Cirac in 2002, call to vote No to the referendum instead of abtsain, denouncing of the rioters now and "holy union" with the left for a socail state)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
